Thank you for your interest in becoming a Live Yes! Connect Group Facilitator and organize a support group that offers social and educational opportunities for people in your community. Our team of facilitators host meetings and events across the United States, bringing the arthritis community together for connection, education, and empowerment.

Our peer led support groups meet a minimum of one event/meeting per quarter either in-person or virtually. Events offer both education and social connection. Education can be delivered by either a local subject matter expert or the facilitator using Arthritis Foundation resources.

Connect Group Facilitator

A Connect Group Facilitator creates an environment of understanding, encouragement, and empowerment that is supportive and inclusive in local communities and through virtual options.  

Expectations:

  • Support and promote the Arthritis Foundation mission, activities and other offerings and resources
  • Facilitate group discussions and shares Arthritis Foundation content
  • Serve as a volunteer representative of the Arthritis Foundation in their local community
  • Collaborate and communicate with volunteer leaders and staff
  • Host a minimum of quarterly events, once per quarter and a minimum of 4 hours per month
  • Have access to reliable internet and a computer/laptop
  • Are open to working in partnership with a co-facilitator

Facilitators abide by the Live Yes! Connect Group Guidelines and Terms & Conditions, practice ethical confidentiality standards and represent Arthritis Foundation in a professional, respectful, and positive manner.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial
  • Volunteer leadership experience a plus
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and passion for improving the lives of people with all types of arthritis

Volunteers are encouraged to share their personal experiences with others but must refrain from giving medical advice or recommending medical treatments.
